  <title>Dallas, TX: Video Specialist at Highland Park United Methodist Church</title>
  <description>HPUMC is one of the largest United Methodist churches in the country, with over 13,000 members.  We offer 8 worship services in 4 different styles (ranging from traditional and contemporary) and venues plus Sunday school classes for all ages.  In addition, our 1-year-old Munger Place extension campus in Old East Dallas is growing and active.  This is a general AV tech position, working at times with audio or lighting, but with strong emphasis on video.  Responsibilities include video production during worship services; assisting team members with tech support; producing sermon series teasers, loops, countdowns, sermon illustration videos, ministry promos and videos for playback on website and during special events; preparing venues/setup/teardown/storing of equipment; ensuring safe operation; and other duties as required.  Our edit styles include contemporary/modern, retro, informational, interviews, crisp, clean look.  WE REQUIRE a Christian who is dedicated to leading a life that becomes the Gospel and who is comfortable working in a United Methodist church environment, with the following qualifications: - Video production experience; church media experience strongly preferred, especially with video production - Outstanding video production skills - Formal video/media education a plus but not required - Proficiency in operation and maintenance of modern video production equipment and software (Adobe Premier, Encore, After Effects, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro &amp;amp; Motion).  Experience with Mac OSX preferred, plus ability to use MS Office - Ability to perform basic 3-pt lighting plus ability to be more creative for video shoots requiring more than that - Good understanding of professional video production techniques - Proficiency with audio for video production techniques (use of wireless and shotgun mics, headphone monitoring of camera recordings, etc.) - Good interpersonal, communication and customer service skills to deal with co-workers, volunteers, church members and contractors - Good initiative and organizational abilities - Must exhibit appropriate demeanor and have attire ranging from casual to dressy - Good hearing and vision (including color, close, distance, peripheral and depth perception) - Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, kneel, use hands to manipulate (fine motor), etc. - Physical ability to lift equipment of various sizes and weights, some pieces exceeding 100 lbs  Working Hours: Along with working most weekdays, our media team must be present on Sunday mornings and at designated special events which may be at night or on weekends. I.	Function

The Director of Video shall work under the direction of the Executive Pastor of Worship and Fine Arts to produce high-quality, contemporary and compelling video elements in support of worship services, seasonal projects, ministry projects, and general advertising media. ï³	Research, purchase and maintain video equipment and resources 
ï³	Attend Creative Team Meetings, contributing ideas, resources, critique, and support
ï³	Attend staff and production meetings as requested
ï³	Recruit, train and encourage volunteers who can assist in the technical ministry
ï³	Develop a system for effectively managing all ministry-related projects
ï³	Provide assistance on DVD duplications of services and events 
ï³	Provide minor equipment repair and troubleshooting 
ï³	Recommend equipment purchases and coordinate budgets related to video functions
ï³	Provide ongoing 6-month work plans to establish goals and objectives congruent with the vision and values of Fairhaven Church

III.	Specific Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities:

Hold a college level degree or equivalent.  Skills include the ability to think through problems, express thought clearly, and work without constant supervision.  Knowledge of and experience with broadcast / production equipment operation and production techniques.  Critical aural and visual skills applied to the analysis of quality control issues related to the department products.  Excellent communication skills are important.

The ability to read computer terminals and use keyboards, good aural and visual skills for quality control issues, the ability to read and evaluate print media including graphics, the ability to climb stairs and lift heavy objects in order to access and maneuver the department equipment and the ability to operate and function with the department equipment. The ability to seek creative options while problem solving within a team environment.

IV.  	Supervision Received

The Director of Video is directly responsible to the Executive Pastor of Worship and Fine Arts, and through him to the Sr. Pastor and then to the Governing Board of Fairhaven Church.
